*The Opening Hymn # 136 Are You Washed in the Blood
The Scripture Lesson Psalm 73: 1-17
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold for I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills.
Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. From their callous hearts comes iniquity, the evil conceits of their minds know no limits. They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression. Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance. They say, “How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?
This is what the wicked are like – always carefree, they increase in wealth. Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure; in vain have I washed my hands in innocence. All day long I have been plagued; I have been punished every morning. If I had said, “I will speak thus,” I would have betrayed your children. When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.
This is the word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Attention Skipwith Members:
1. Have you changed your address or know members who have changed their address? Please let the office know of any changes so we will have accurate information. Even if members are out of town and rarely attend, the deacons send cards periodically and accurate information is a big help in ministering to folks through the mail.
2. Would you have an interest in helping with transportation with members who are not comfortable driving after dark but enjoy the Wednesday program. Please ask the pastor, Mrs. Taylor, or Mr. McGuire for more information.
3. Have you joined the Skipwith Baptist Church Facebook Page. Check us out and let us hear from you.
Remember our homebound members this week in prayer. Take time to send a card or call to Mrs. Mildred Privott, 1600 Westbrook Ave. apt 203, Richmond, VA 23227.

A Prayer for Worship
O God, light of the minds that know you,
Life of the souls that love you,
Strength of the thoughts that seek you;
Help us to so know you
That we may truly love you,
To so love you
That we may fully serve you,
Whose service is perfect freedom;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
