The Worship of God
October 13, 2019
The prelude music is a time for beginning worship. Observing a time of silence and prayer will free the congregation to focus on the worship of God.
Prelude Mrs. Beth Braun
The Chiming of the Hour
The Welcome and the Lord’s Prayer Ms. Joanne Taylor
*The Opening Hymn # 333 Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
The Scripture Lesson 2 Timothy 2:8-10 NIV
Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
This is the word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
The Morning Prayer
*The Offertory Hymn # 458 Nearer My God to Thee
Special Music Mrs. Beth Braun
The Sermon Dr. Cecil Chambers
The discipline of memory
The possibility of suffering
The affirmation of salvation
*The Hymn of Decision # 317 Only Trust Him
The Dismissal with Blessing
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
And the love of God
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
Be with you all.
The Choral Benediction Amen
