The Greeting and the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom
And the power and the glory forever and ever.
Amen
*The Opening Hymn # 416 My Faith Looks Up to Thee
The Scripture Lesson Matthew 5: 27-30
You have heard that is was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
This is the gospel of the Lord
