The Greeting and the Lord’s Prayer                                                           Beth Andrews

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.

On earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil

For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever.

Amen

The Scripture Lesson                            Romans 8: 12-17

Therefore brothers, we have an obligation – but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.   For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

For if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

This is the word of God for the people of God.

Thanks be to God.
