He will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

We Welcome You

 

We welcome to our pulpit Dr. John V. Upton, Jr., Executive Director of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board. Dr. Upton has pastured churches in Texas, New Jersey and  Virginia.  He and his wife, Deborah, served as missionaries in Taiwan. John a Norfolk born Virginia native, is a graduate of Averett College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  The Uptons have two sons, Christopher and Richard, a daughter Emily and three grandchildren.  We look forward to the message he will share with us this morning.  Our pastor is out of town and will be back with us next Sunday.

 

We are happy that you have come to worship with us.  If you are a guest, we pray that you will be blessed by joining us in the praise and worship of our Lord.  May God’s spirit and our fellowship bring you comfort, joy and peace.

Easter Brunch – next Sunday – Palm Sunday

Join us at 9 o’clock next Sunday morning for our Easter Brunch in the Wright Fellowship Hall.  Bible study groups meet at 9:45 and worship at 11:00 p.m.

 

Youth Talent Show Wednesday, March 31 at about 6:30 pm following dinner.  If you can come for dinner at 6:00 pm, please make your reservation by signing the list posted on the bulletin board.  Shyndigs will prepare the meal.

 

Thursday, April 1 – Maundy Thursday,  Meditation and Communion Service 7:00 pm

Saturday, April 3 -  Egg Hunt for children at church at 2:00 pm

 

Fish Fry

The Kononia Men’s Bible Class is sponsoring a Fish Fry on Saturday, April 10th at 6 o’clock in the fellowship hall.  They ask that you bring a covered dish to share and they will provide the fish and all the trimmings.  Make reservations by signing the list posted in the back hall bulletin board.
