You will need to make reservations by signing the list posted on the back hall bulletin board.
We extend a hardy thank you and appreciation to Rachel LaDuke for the good work she has done in leading this committee for many years. She has retired and turned the job of leadership over to Janet Atkinson. We know Janet will continue the good work.
A Change in Constitution and Bylaws
Current wording:
Article III – Officers and Boards, Section 5 (b) Deacons, the active deacons shall consist of nine members. Deacons shall serve for three-year terms, with three members rotating off each year. A deacon shall not be eligible for re-election to active duty until the lapse of at least one year.
The deacons request that the following statement by added to Article III, section 5: In the event an unexpired (vacated) term of a deacon is filled for a time period of twelve (12) months or less, that person may be considered eligible for nomination as a deacon candidate in the following term on the committee.
Membership will vote on this change to our constitution at the regular Church Business Meeting in April.
Financial Corner
Happy March Skipwith folks! We have set up a Haitian Relief Fund for those who wish to designate money to the aid of the Haitian people. Also we have enough money to get started on a new roof for the family in need and we’ve been assisting in getting some bills paid from the Family Assistance Account.
If you were not at the January Business Meeting, there are some extra year end financial reports in Pauline’s office. There you can track the use of the accounts throughout the year.
Now for some not so pleasant news, we started the year of 2009 with $35000. in our General Fund Account and we ended our year with about $20,000. If we continue with this trend we will soon find ourselves in some serious financial trouble. We’ve had a couple of Sundays with no regular offerings being gathered due to snow. As Proverbs 10:4 says “Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich” Please let’s not neglect the financial needs of our church home but be diligent in keeping things running smoothly. We may not have been here but unfortunately the bills keep coming!!!
January Revenues: $15,016.45
January Expenses: $18,495.28
All said in love, Belinda

Youth Yard Sale
April 24
The youth are planning another fund raiser yard sale for Saturday, April 24th at the church.
As you begin your spring cleaning - save all those treasures that you no longer need and donate them to the yard sale! You may bring them to the church and place them in the room across from the youth department. The money they earn will go toward their mission trip to
Wonderful Wednesday Dinners
The Shyndigz Catering Company prepared our dinner which was served by our hospitality committee on Wednesday February 24th. 63 people signed up and came for a delicious dinner. It is good to again enjoy the Wednesday night fellowship around the dinner table, however the rules have changed a bit. The food will still be good, but there may no longer be second helpings or stretching the food to include a person who did not make a reservation. You must make a reservation no later than noon on Monday. If you make a reservation you must pay for the meal whether you eat it or not. The cost of the meal is $8.00 for adult/youth; $5.00 for children under 12; not over $20.00 per family. When the food was prepared here at the church by our own dedicated people we could be a little more lenient but now we only order according to reservations made and we must pay for all we order. Thanks for your cooperation and join us each Wednesday for Wonderful Wednesday Dinners!
From Our Pastor
It is exciting to begin the Wonderful World of Wednesdays again. We are working with a small catering company called Shyndzs Caterings. They have worked with other churches and have done catering in our
The lost Sundays at church plus high expenses related to heating repairs and snow removal have put us in a position acquiring $10,000 more than income so far in the month. We are the kind of folks who appreciate conservative principles in finances so I mention this for your prayerful consideration.
We are trying a new process of distributing The Communicator this month. The service from the postal service has been far from acceptable the past couple of months. Hopefully, by distributing the Communicator on Sunday we can save expenses and increase the timely information flow to the church. Remember to check our web-site for information on a weekly basis.

From Minister of Children, Youth and Young Adults
With March comes the beginning of spring and creation starting to bloom and grow and become new. The warmth of the sun and the sounds of new life are waiting in anticipation to bring a fresh start. As our senses have opportunity to enjoy this season to come, so should our spirits. Sometimes we can get in a rut in our relationship with God, but the beauty of our Creator is that He is constantly making fresh starts and a newness of the soul available to us. We just need to allow our hearts to be vulnerable and accept the love and grace that God gives freely. So take care of your spirit, nurture it. Talk to God, try new devotions, make time for quiet reflection, and worship God. We need to remember the excitement of when we first became Christians and what that fresh start meant to us. Scripture says that “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17.
