Week of Prayer for Association Missions
We will observe a week of prayer for missions May 16 – 23 at Skipwith. Ingathering of a special offering will be taken on Sunday, May 23rd. This is the offering we take each year to help inner-city children have a Christian camping experience at
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’.

Happy May Flowers Everyone!
Aren’t the flowers gorgeous? God is so wonderful in blessing us with all the beauty He bestowed this earth. In the next weeks to come, we will be discussing ways to work on cutting back on spending as a church body. Please let’s do this with a healthy, happy attitude. It’s just a sign of the times. Lifeline Screening - coming to Skipwith – June 25, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
They will be running test for heart and stroke prevention etc. You may want to consider having some of these test while they are available at a convenient place and for a reasonable price. More information will be available in the next Communicator.

Visiting Youth Choir ---- “We Need Your Help!” ---- From Rick
On Sunday, June 6, Skipwith will be hosting the First Baptist Church Youth Choir (
We need your support! The choir will be performing at Kings Dominion for a “Christian Youth Music Festival” on Saturday, June 5th. They will arrive at the
Our responsibilities will include:
* Meeting your 2 students in the Skipwith parking lot at 9:00 pm on Saturday, June 5th .
* Providing “light” snacks and conversation that evening before bedtime.
* Breakfast Sunday morning (June 6th) and returning your students back to Skipwith by the start of Sunday School.
* Skipwith will provide lunch for the ensemble and host families after our 11:00 am worship service.
*At approximately 1:30 pm we will drop off our 2 students at
Please prayerfully consider helping out! This will be a great “mission” opportunity for the choral students and for our Skipwith “host” families! We will need approximately 14 host families for students and 4 host families for adult chaperons (18 total host families).
A sign-up sheet will be available over the next several weeks if you feel led to help!

Skipwith Concert Fundraiser: Community Event
On May 15th the youth are hosting the “Skipwith Concert Fundraiser: Community Event” from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be local bands and solo acts performing!
The tickets are $10. (all of which goes toward our youth mission trip to
