The Communicator
Volume 16, Issue 9 September, 2009
From the Pastor
The well known Psalm 23 speaks of the leading of the Lord in the image of a shepherd who makes us lie down in green pastures; and of being led beside still waters. There he recalls the experience of the restoration of the soul. I appreciate the time provided by the church for vacation this summer. We had a time of spiritual restoration on vacation. Isn’t it wonderful that God has provided a world of beauty to nurture us in rest and given us his spirit to provide renewal and restoration?
Summer is moving into the sunset and soon we will be launching into fall. What a good time to be excited about
Please note the Sunday School Picnic. We will have a great time and it will be good to talk and visit and share stories in a relaxed get together.
Please note Sunday afternoon October 4, 2009 for an Ordination Service for
We live in times of great change, stress and uncertainty. Let us rejoice in the nature and goodness of our God who is fully able to sustain us and lead us through times and circumstances like ours. Remember some of our church family
who are fighting huge battles with sickness and disease. We are fortunate to have strong believers among us. Let us be encouragers to them during these days.
In Christ’s peace

From the Director of Children, Youth and Young Adults
Back to school time is here, and as it comes it brings a fresh start, a new season, and another chance to accomplish goals or a chance to make new ones. We know and believe that God is a God of second chances and new beginnings. He amazes me everyday with the amount of grace and compassion that he has for us. So whether you are starting a new grade, a new school, college, a new job, or you just desire a new outlook on life, I challenge you to allow God do what He does best. That is caring, providing, loving and guiding you in all areas of your life. There are many obstacles to starting new things in this new school year, but God has a level of awesomeness that is beyond our ability to comprehend the power and His willingness to use that power to meet us in those obstacles and bring us through as overcomers. So may you come closer to your Creator and Father and loving God, and may you be successful this year as you let go of the fears, stresses, and disappointments that may come. Then allow the Savior to help you carry those burdens with no activity fee or supplies required. And Why? God loves you very much. He is proud of you. He believes in you. He will never leave you. Don’t forget that!

Thank You note:
Thank you so much for helping Carolyn and I attend the Hinshaw Church Music Workshop. It was one of the best experiences that I have had musically. To be able to meet composers such as John Rutter, Mark Hayes, and Jay Althouse is a dream come true for me. I have performed their music in church and school settings for years and didn’t think I’d ever have the opportunity to actually meet and work with them. Again, thank you for the financial support you provided for this opportunity and for the spiritual support and love you provide to both of us weekly.
