During the Christmas season, our focus can become blurred through the hustle and bustle. We have to take a step back and see what lens we are looking through, and if our hearts are in a true place. Near the surface we see ourselves celebrating the birth of Christ. Along the edges there are scratches and smudges of holiday business that can make our sights distorted or past hurts and loss that can make our sights faint with tears. As you allow yourself to a deeper stare you see a celebration of not only the birth, but the life of Jesus, God’s love for His people, the reason we have breath and the foundation of why we live. We need to remember this above all and honor the Savior of the world! Our Christmas traditions are very dear to our hearts, but let us worship and adore the King in all we do this season from singing a favorite Christmas song to helping those in need. Let us gaze upon the miracle that happened that night, and the baby that was born in a manger to save the world! -Rev. April Sledge
