The Pastor’s Corner
I encourage you to read The Communicator with care this month. There is information about significant events and ministries for our church through the fall.
Please come and join us for dinner on September 6, I will give a presentation to the church of the joint meeting of Deacons, Church Council and Finance Committee regarding the finances of our church. Hope to see you for dinner and the program to follow.
Can you make a note to invite friends to the Music program on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 3:30 PM. Let’s fill our church yard with people and make some new friends. It looks to be a great event for the community.
Looking forward to a great fall.

The Alma Hunt Week of Prayer for Virginia Missions
September 18-24 – we have set aside this week to remember the good work of the missionaries who work throughout our state in the Indian reservations, church planting projects, children’s CrossRoads Camp, Southwest Virginia Partnerships, Abigail Girls Mission Projects and many others to help people in Virginia have a relationship with the God who loves them.
You can help with your prayers and gifts. You will find a special offering envelope in the pew racks or in your offering envelope box. We may not be able to go, but we can help others share the love of Christ with a world in crisis with our prayers and gifts.
Mission Action for September
We are collecting canned tuna and small bags of rice for the Lighthouse Church this month. Please leave your donations in the Sunday School foyer.
Harvey Relief – donations may be made through the church. Simply mark your envelope “Disaster Relief” and place it in the offering plate. We will send all gifts to the Virginia Baptist Board where very dollar will be used to help people affected by the storm in Texas.
